Road Trip for Heroes is a drive across the great State of Texas to raise awareness and funds for Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Foundation families.
During the month of September (2013), Gridiron Heroes founders Eddie and Chris Canales will lead the 1,000 mile road trip in their Gridiron Heroes wheelchair- accessible van visiting five Texas High School football games in five cities including San Antonio (Steele), Dallas (Southlake Carroll), Austin (Lake Travis) and Houston (Jersey Village).
A press conference will be held in each city with prominent college and high school head football coaches and sponsors.
Our goal is to raise a minimum of $100,000 to purchase at least one new wheelchair-accessible van for a Texas high school football player who has sustained a life changing spinal cord injury, as well as continue monthly support of all Gridiron Heroes families.
Dedicated supporters and the stars of the award winning Friday Night Lights television show Kyle Chandler and Brad Leland will serve as Honorary Chairmen of Road Trip for Heroes.
Prominent College and High School Head Football Coaches will serve as members of the Steering Committee and will participate in campaign promotion and media events.
An Organizing Committee will be assembled to assist in the Road Trip for Heroes fundraising Campaign. Committee members will be ask to raise a minimum of $1,000 each.
